This year Spring Day in Europe is going to celebrate the 5th Enlargement.
Here is a list of the candidate countries:
Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania,
Hungary, Malta, Poland,
Slovenia, Slovakia
plus Bulgaria, Romania,
Turkey.
2004 The European Union is on the verge of a historic moment. Ten new countries are set to join the EU on 1 May 2004 and three
candidate countries are preparing for membership. Through Spring Day in Europe, schools have the opportunity to debate and
celebrate the enlargement of the EU. Read more...
One of our students created this meaningful flower representing the 15 E.U. nations.
Starting from this image, we will deal with the common values on which the European Union has been built, heading towards
the most relevant Enlargement that will take place on the 1st of May 2004.
Here they are!
Democracy, Equality, Freedom,
Peace, Solidarity, Tolerance
They are the fundamental points of our stability.
Therefore they will be the main object of our debate!
