In his essay "Two cheers for "Democracy" (1939), E.M. Forster described the positive aspects of democracy underlining, in particular, the fact that it admits variety and allows criticism. Moreover, he appreciated that it doesn't divide people in bossers and bossed, starting from the assumption that the individual is important and that all types are needed to make a civilization. Later on, he reasserted this concept by saying  "It takes all sorts to make the world" thus showing a very strong feeling towards tolerance and acceptance of the individual characteristics and peculiarities. He was against hero-worship as well as force that must be shut in a box to allow people to reinforce human relations and express their creativeness .
